Carnival Corp. & PLC posted dramatically higher profits in the second quarter, fueled in part by increases in ticket prices and onboard revenue as well as lower costs, the company said Tuesday. The world's largest cruise company, based in Doral in Miami-Dade County, reported a near tripling of net income of $605 million, or 80 cents per share, up from $222 million, or 29 cents per share, a year earlier.

Last week, the No Name Caf Books and More was awarded with a4 plaque by the website TripAdvisor.com for its consistent service as one of Port St. Joe’s top coffee and lunch shops. TripAdvisor, a travel website that provides reviews of travel-related spots including restaurants, shops and hotels worldwide, relies on customer-generated reviews to assign a rating to each participating business.

Starwood Hotels (HOT) Stock Soaring After Announcing Earnings, Strategic Alternative Exploration

Starwood Hotels said its adjusted earnings were 65 cents per share, compared to the 57 cents per share analysts polled by Thomson Reuters were expecting. For the full year Starwood is expecting earnings to be in a range between $2.94 per share and $3.04 per share, above the $2.97 per share analysts have forecast.
