Galveston cruise terminal expansion moves forward

The Board of Trustees of Galveston Wharves awarded a contract for Cruise Terminal 2 berth and mooring improvements to J.W. Kelso Company Inc., a Galveston construction company, for an amount not to exceed $2.2 million. The improvements and expansion are necessary to accommodate Liberty of the Seas , a 1,100-foot cruise ship with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. that will depart from Galveston beginning in November, said Port Director Michael Mierzwa .

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada — Carnival Cruise Lines returned to Grenada for the 2014/2015 cruise season on Tuesday, after an absence of 15 years. The Carnival Splendor berthed for the first time from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at Melville Street Cruise Terminal with a passenger capacity of 3,002.

TripAdvisor misses 3Q profit forecasts

The company on Tuesday reported third-quarter net income of $54 million, or 37 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and pretax expenses, were 48 cents per share.
