First, the good news: The big chains, those mega-hotels that cater to business travelers during the week, are finally following suit of the budget, side-of-the-road properties and offering free Wi-Fi.

TripAdvisor tops biggest losers of the week following Q3 earnings

Shares in Newton-based TripAdvisor sunk more than 13 percent during the week of Nov. 3 following a weaker-than-expected third-quarter earnings report. The online travel company missed on Wall Street expectations for earnings per share, with earnings per share at 48 cents instead of the estimated 60 cents.
