Santa Cruz hoteliers hope for Super Bowl spillover

Bookshop Santa Cruz caters to football fans as Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara approaches. Online travel site TripAdvisor reports Super Bowl 50 has driven up hotel prices to almost triple the normal rate at Silicon Valley locations within 10 miles of the stadium in Santa Clara.

Sometimes the customer isn’t right’: Owners of popular Altrincham pasta kitchen Sugo hit back at a harsh review from a disgruntled diner Owners of a popular pasta restaurant have hit back at a “petty” one-star TripAdvisor review from a disgruntled diner. The customer slated Sugo pasta kitchen for its 90-minute table turnaround policy, complaining that her meal had been rushed and that the food was something she “could have prepared far better”.

Carnival could launch Miami to Cuba cruises in May

Carnival Corp. says it could become the first American cruise company to visit Cuba since the 1960 trade embargo when it offers trips from Miami to the Caribbean island nation starting in May, pending approval from the Cuban government. The trips will be through its new brand, fathom, which focuses on trips where passengers do volunteer work.

Orlando tops AAA’s popular spring break destination list

Orlando continues to rank well among this year’s top spring break destinations, according to a new list by AAA Travel. “Travelers are looking for warmer climates after a particularly harsh winter,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for the auto club, in a news release.
